ENM Therapy Oklahoma
ENM Therapy Oklahoma

You should not have to spend your therapy session explaining why your relationship structure is valid.

We already know it is. ENM-affirming therapy for polyamorous, open, and ethically non-monogamous adults across Oklahoma. Virtual statewide, in-person in OKC.

Your Relationship Structure Is Not the Problem

Ethical non-monogamy includes polyamory, open relationships, relationship anarchy, swinging, and any other structure where everyone involved has fully consented to a non-exclusive arrangement. It is a legitimate way to do relationships. Not a phase, not a symptom, not something to be fixed.

Finding a therapist in Oklahoma who actually understands ENM without treating it like the presenting issue can be genuinely difficult. A lot of people have sat across from a therapist who spent the whole session focused on the relationship structure instead of the reason they actually came in. We are not going to do that.

Your relationship agreements, your structure, your choices about how you love people. None of that is up for debate in our therapy rooms. Whether you are polyamorous, in an open relationship, practicing relationship anarchy, exploring consensual non-monogamy for the first time, or somewhere in between, you deserve a therapist who speaks the language and lets you get to the actual work.

ENM is not the diagnosis. It never was.

What You Actually Came Here For

Your relationship structure and your mental health are not the same conversation.

Most ENM clients are not coming to therapy because of their relationship structure. They are coming for the same reasons anyone comes to therapy.

Anxiety. Depression. Trauma. Grief. Burnout. A parent who still knows exactly how to push every button. A relationship that is struggling not because of the structure but because of the same communication and attachment patterns that derail any relationship. The particular exhaustion of navigating a world that still treats your relationship choices as a problem to be solved.

We do not assume that ethical non-monogamy is the source of your distress just because it exists. If your relationship structure is relevant, we will talk about it. If it is not, we will not force every issue through that lens.

And when ENM is the thing you want to work on, we work on it without a side of unsolicited opinions about whether you should reconsider.

What We Work On

Whatever you bring into the room.

We work with individuals, couples, and polycules on the full range of what comes up in life and in relationships. You do not have to be in a relationship to start, you do not have to bring your partners, and you do not have to have your structure fully defined. People who are already thriving in their ENM relationships and just want support that does not require constant explanation are just as welcome as people who are in the middle of something hard.

Virtual therapy has a specific kind of value here.

Not everyone is out about their relationship structure. That is not a problem. That is a reality, and it is yours to navigate on your own timeline.

Virtual therapy across Oklahoma means you can access affirming support from anywhere in the state without walking into an office, running into someone you know, or having your relationship structure visible to anyone you did not choose to tell. We see clients across OKC, Tulsa, Edmond, Norman, Stillwater, Lawton, and everywhere in between.

In-person sessions are available in Oklahoma City for those who prefer them.

Curious. Affirming. Holds space without rushing you to a conclusion.

Demetria specializes in ethically non-monogamous relationships and brings an affirming, non-judgmental approach to that work. She works with adults who are tired of explaining themselves, navigating relationships their families do not understand, loving people outside the way the world told them to, and doing that inside communities where being different carries real weight. Her practice is grounded in the Sankofa principle: honoring where you have been as part of how you move forward. Currently accepting new clients virtually across Oklahoma.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions we actually get.

Will my therapist try to talk me out of ENM?

No. Your relationship structure is not something we are here to evaluate or redirect. We are here to help you with what you actually came for. If you want to work through something related to your ENM relationships, we do that. If you want to work on something completely unrelated, we do that too, without making your relationship structure the backdrop for everything.

Do I need to be in a relationship to come to ENM therapy?

No. We work with individuals who are practicing ENM on their own, people who are between relationships, people who are exploring whether ENM is right for them, and people who are navigating a transition out of an ENM structure. You do not need a partner or polycule present to get started.

Can I come alone if my partner or partners are not in therapy?

Yes. Individual therapy is individual therapy. You do not need anyone else's participation or buy-in to work on your own experience, your own patterns, or your own needs. A lot of ENM clients come solo and find it plenty useful.

What if I am still exploring whether ENM is right for me?

That is a completely fine place to start. You do not need to have made a decision or committed to a structure before you can talk about it in therapy. We are not going to push you toward or away from ENM. We will help you think through what you actually want and what fits your life.

What relationship structures do you work with?

Polyamory, open relationships, relationship anarchy, swinging, hierarchical and non-hierarchical structures, solo polyamory, kitchen-table and parallel polyamory, and anything else that falls under the consensual non-monogamy umbrella. If you are not sure what category your situation falls into, that is fine too.

Is virtual therapy private enough for this?

Yes. All telehealth sessions use a HIPAA-compliant platform. No one outside your session has access to what you discuss. Your insurance billing uses a clinical diagnosis code, not anything that describes your relationship structure. If you are not out about your ENM relationships and want to keep your therapy private, virtual is a solid option and we take that seriously.

Does insurance cover ENM therapy?

Insurance covers outpatient therapy based on clinical diagnosis, not relationship structure. If you have a diagnosable condition like anxiety, depression, or trauma, most major plans cover therapy for that. ENM itself is not a diagnosis and is not what gets billed. Demetria is currently in network with Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna and Evernorth, FEP BlueCross BlueShield, Dean Health Plan, Healthcare Highways, Medica Harmony, Mending (Taro Health), and WebTPA. Fill out our contact form and we will confirm your specific benefits before your first appointment.
