Cigna Therapist in Oklahoma
In-Network
Cigna Therapy,
Anywhere in Oklahoma.
Your card says Cigna. Your portal says Evernorth. Both land here. Ala Therapy Collective is in network with Cigna and Evernorth Behavioral Health for therapy in person in Oklahoma City, outdoors around Tulsa, and online across the state. EMDR, trauma work, anxiety, ADHD, and LGBTQIA+ affirming care, with benefits verified before your first session.
Coverage
In network with Cigna commercial plans and Evernorth Behavioral Health for outpatient therapy and counseling, in person and online.
Your cost
Depends on your plan and where your deductible stands. We verify it and tell you the number before you start.
Getting started
Send your Cigna member ID through the contact form. We run your benefits before session one.
Does Cigna or Evernorth Cover Therapy in Oklahoma
Yes. And Cigna and Evernorth
are the same company.
Most Cigna plans cover outpatient mental health therapy and counseling, in person and online. Federal mental health parity law requires Cigna to cover mental health at the same level as medical and surgical care, so therapy isn't a lesser benefit on your plan.
Cigna Healthcare is the insurance plan. Evernorth Behavioral Health is the part of The Cigna Group that runs the mental health side, so your therapy claims, authorizations, and provider directory often come through Evernorth even though the card says Cigna. Ala Therapy Collective is in network either way. You don't have to figure out which one you have to book with us.
If your card says Cigna
Most commercial Cigna plans, including Open Access Plus and the employer plans built on it, run through this network. Send the member ID and we verify it.
If your portal or referral says Evernorth
Same network, same verification, same in-network rate. Send the member ID from your Cigna card and we take it from there.
What in network actually means for you: lower out-of-pocket cost, no claim paperwork, and no waiting on reimbursement. We handle the billing. You show up to therapy.
One thing to know: Cigna doesn't sell individual Marketplace plans in Oklahoma, so the Cigna cards we see here come through employers. If yours does, this is your page. The rest of the fine print is in the Cigna FAQ below.
Cigna Therapy Cost in Oklahoma
What it costs.
The honest version.
What you pay per session depends on your specific Cigna plan, where your deductible stands, and whether your plan uses a copay or coinsurance for outpatient mental health. We can't give you a flat number on a website. What we can do is verify your plan and tell you what every session will cost before you book the first one.
Your cost depends on your plan.
Cigna employer plans vary by employer. Some clients owe nothing per session. Some owe a flat copay. Plans with coinsurance or an unmet deductible cost more until the deductible is met.
We tell you the exact number.
Before your first session we verify your specific plan with Cigna and put your per-session cost in writing, in plain English. No surprises, and no promises we can't keep.
What we check before you start.
When we run your benefits with Cigna, we confirm:
- Whether your plan covers outpatient therapy, in person and online
- Whether your employer's plan is self-funded and runs on a different network
- Your deductible and how much of it is left
- Your copay or coinsurance per session
- Whether your plan wants a referral from your primary care doctor
You get the numbers in writing before your first session.
Please note: insurance benefit quotes are estimates from your insurance provider and are not a guarantee of coverage. Final responsibility for payment depends on how your insurance processes the actual claim for each date of service.
Cigna Benefits Verification

plan is covered?
Send your Cigna member ID through the contact form and we'll confirm we're in network with your specific plan before your first session. If the card says Cigna and the paperwork says Evernorth, that's normal. Send it anyway.

Cigna and Evernorth Therapy FAQ
What people ask
about Cigna and therapy.
Is there a Cigna therapist in Oklahoma City who sees clients in person?
Yes. Kenzie Langford and Demetria Bonds see Cigna clients face to face at the Oklahoma City office, and both see clients online as well. Same member ID, same verification.
Is there a Cigna therapist near Tulsa?
Taylor Hendricks meets clients outdoors around the Tulsa metro through Neurodivergent IRL: sessions on trails and in parks, ages twelve and up. Every other clinician on this page sees Tulsa clients online. We verify your benefits before the first session, trail or screen.
Does Cigna cover online therapy in Oklahoma?
Most Cigna plans cover telehealth therapy. Madison Johnson and Michi Medley see clients online statewide, and every clinician offers video sessions. We confirm your plan's telehealth benefit during verification. More on the online therapy in Oklahoma page.
My card says Cigna but the referral says Evernorth. Are you in network?
Yes. Evernorth Behavioral Health is the behavioral network for Cigna Healthcare plans, so both names point to the same place. Send us the Cigna member ID and we verify it.
Do I need a referral to see a therapist with Cigna?
On most Cigna plans, no. Open Access Plus and PPO plans are built so you don't need a referral to see a mental health provider. Some HMO and point of service plans want one from your primary care doctor. We confirm during benefits verification, so you don't have to guess.
Does Cigna cover therapy for anxiety and depression?
Yes. Anxiety and depression fall under the outpatient behavioral health benefit on every commercial Cigna plan. Your copay, coinsurance, and deductible depend on your specific plan, so we check your benefits and tell you what to expect before your first session. More on the anxiety and depression page.
Does Cigna cover EMDR therapy?
Yes. EMDR is billed under standard psychotherapy codes and is covered like any other outpatient therapy session under your Cigna plan. Kenzie Langford is the EMDR trained clinician currently booking with Cigna. Shylah Ridgway is also EMDR trained, and her therapy caseload is currently full. More on the EMDR therapy page.
How many therapy sessions does Cigna cover per year?
Most current Cigna plans don't cap outpatient therapy sessions as long as treatment is medically necessary, which is a low bar to clear in clinical practice. Some plans still carry annual limits or ask for authorization after a set number of visits. We check yours during benefits verification.
Can I use Cigna for my teenager's therapy?
Yes. Kenzie Langford and Taylor Hendricks both work with teens, and Taylor sees clients twelve and up. Send the teen's Cigna member ID through the contact form and we run the benefits before the first session. More on the therapy for teens page.
Does Cigna cover postpartum therapy?
Yes. Perinatal mental health is covered under the same outpatient benefit as any other therapy on your Cigna plan. Madison Johnson works with pregnancy, postpartum, and the stretch after, online across Oklahoma. More on the perinatal and postpartum page.
What about the Cigna EAP?
Cigna's employee assistance program also runs through Evernorth. It's a separate benefit from your health plan: a set number of sessions per issue per year, decided by your employer. Mention it when you reach out and we'll tell you whether your EAP sessions can be used at Ala Therapy Collective.
My employer's plan says "administered by Cigna." Are you in network?
Usually, but it's the one Cigna card we double check. Some employers self-fund their plan and hire Cigna to administer it, and a few of those run on a different network or through a third-party administrator. If yours turns out to be one of those, we tell you upfront, before you book.
How much is therapy with Cigna after insurance?
It depends on your plan. Most Cigna employer plans use either a flat copay per session or a coinsurance percentage once any deductible is met, and the deductible on a high deductible plan comes first. We verify your plan and put your per-session number in writing before you start.
How do I read my Cigna Summary of Benefits for therapy?
Every plan comes with a Summary of Benefits and Coverage, the standardized document in your myCigna portal or from your HR department. Find the row that reads "If you need mental health, behavioral health, or substance abuse services" and look at "Outpatient services." The Network Provider column is what you'd pay per session with us. A dollar amount is a copay; a percentage is coinsurance; "after deductible" means the deductible comes first. If you'd rather not decode it, send it with your member ID and we read it for you.
What do deductible, copay, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximum mean?
Deductible: what you pay before the plan starts paying, if your plan applies it to therapy. Copay: a flat amount per session. Coinsurance: a percentage of the contracted session rate instead of a flat amount. Out-of-pocket maximum: the ceiling on what you pay in a plan year; once you hit it, covered care is paid in full by the plan. We tell you which of these your plan uses and where you stand on each before your first session.
What if my Cigna plan isn't in network?
If we find during verification that your specific Cigna plan isn't one we're in, we tell you upfront. If your plan has out-of-network benefits, you can still see us and we provide superbills for reimbursement.
If insurance isn't going to work, we have self-pay and limited sliding scale options. Details are on the insurance hub.
Do you accept Medicaid or SoonerCare plans?
No. Ala Therapy Collective doesn't bill Medicaid, and Cigna doesn't run a SoonerSelect plan in Oklahoma anyway; those are Aetna Better Health, Humana Healthy Horizons, and Oklahoma Complete Health. If your card says SoonerSelect, reach out and we'll point you toward in-network options.
I have Cigna in Texas or Massachusetts. Can I still see you?
Yes, online. Kenzie Langford is licensed in Texas and Massachusetts as well as Oklahoma, and Cigna is in network in both states. Each state has its own Cigna page: Cigna therapy in Texas and Cigna therapy in Massachusetts.
My employer moved us off Cigna this year. Now what?
Send the new card and we re-verify; if the new carrier is one we're in network with, you keep your clinician and only the billing changes. The University of Oklahoma, for one, moved its employees from Cigna to Blue Cross Blue Shield on January 1, 2026, and that page is here.
