Insurance at Ala Therapy Collective
We take insurance because good therapy should not require a second mortgage.
We are in network with most major insurance plans and we made it easy to check. Plug your insurance in directly on our website and find out what you are working with before you ever have to talk to anyone.
We’re always working to expand what coverage we take. If you are not sure whether your insurance will cover therapy with us, reach out and we will help you figure it out before you even schedule your first appointment.
We would rather spend time sorting out your coverage up front than have you get hit with a surprise bill later.

Private Pay and Sliding Scale
Insurance is not the right fit for everyone. Some clients prefer to pay out of pocket because they want full control over their care, do not want a mental health diagnosis on their insurance record, or have a plan that does not cover what they need.
We offer private pay as a straightforward option with clear pricing and no insurance company sitting in the middle of your care.
Our Rates
Individual sessions:
Standard rate: $200
Self-pay rate: $125
Relationship sessions:
Standard rate: $250
Self-pay rate: $155
Payment
Payment is collected at the time of each session through our secure client portal. All clients keep a valid credit card on file, which is used to process each session's payment as well as any late cancellation or no-show fees per our practice policy. We accept all major credit cards, HSA cards, and FSA cards.
Sliding Scale
We hold a limited number of sliding scale slots for individual therapy clients paying out of pocket. Sliding scale is usually a fit for people who:
Do not have insurance that covers mental health
Have a high deductible and are paying out of pocket until it is met
Want to work with a specific therapist who is not in network with their plan
Because we have a set number of sliding scale openings per therapist, we ask that you choose one of three tiers that best fits your current financial capacity:
$100 | $85 | $75 (most accessible)
How Sliding Scale Works
Limited availability: Slots fill on a first come, first served basis. If your preferred therapist's sliding scale slots are full, we can add you to a waitlist or match you with another provider.
Insurance and superbills: We generally cannot provide superbills for insurance reimbursement at sliding scale rates. These are independent financial agreements with our practice.
Cancellations: Our standard 24 hour cancellation policy applies to all sliding scale tiers.
Review: We review sliding scale rates every 6 months to make sure they still align with your financial situation and our capacity to offer these slots.
Good Faith Estimate
Federal law gives every private pay client the right to a Good Faith Estimate of expected charges before starting care. We provide this automatically. You can read more on our HIPAA & GFE page.
What If My Insurance Is Not Listed
Do not count yourself out before you reach out. Insurance paneling changes and we may be in network with your plan even if it is not listed here yet. We also offer private pay options for clients who prefer to pay out of pocket or whose insurance does not cover therapy. On top of that, we have a limited number of sliding scale spots available for clients who need additional financial flexibility. Reach out and we will have an honest conversation about what your options are.
A Note on Out of Network
If we are not in network with your insurance, you may still be able to use your out of network benefits to offset the cost of therapy. We can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Ask us about this when you reach out.
How to Check Your Coverage
The easiest way is to call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask whether Ala Therapy Collective is in network and what your mental health benefits are. You can also fill out our contact form and we will help you verify your benefits before you book.
