TRICARE West, administered by TriWest. Your therapy is already covered.
If you have TRICARE in Texas, your benefits moved to the West Region on January 1, 2025, administered by TriWest, and Kenzie Langford is in-network. She sees clients across Texas by video. Most plans cover outpatient therapy with no referral. Active duty service members need a referral from their primary care manager first, and we help you sort out which applies to you.

TRICARE covers outpatient therapy with a TRICARE-authorized provider. Kenzie is in-network in the West Region.
Referrals
Most beneficiaries need no referral for outpatient therapy. Active duty service members need one from their PCM.
Getting started
Send one message. We check your TRICARE benefits and match you with Kenzie for a telehealth session.
Does TRICARE cover therapy?
Yes. TRICARE covers medically necessary outpatient psychotherapy with a TRICARE-authorized provider, including individual sessions by video. Here is the part worth getting straight: TRICARE is the military health program, TRICARE West is the region Texas sits in, and TriWest Healthcare Alliance is the company that administers the West Region. They sound alike, but they are not the same thing.
Texas moved from the East Region to the West Region on January 1, 2025, so your regional contractor in Texas is now TriWest. Kenzie Langford is in-network in that region and sees clients across Texas by video.
What you need before your first session depends on your plan and your status, which is what we walk through with you.
What your plan needs, and what you pay
TRICARE cost shares and referral rules depend on your plan and your status. Rather than guess, we read your benefits and tell you what applies. Here is what shapes it:
- Your plan, whether TRICARE Prime, TRICARE Select, or another option
- Your status, whether active duty, family member, retiree, or survivor
- Whether a referral or pre-authorization is needed before you begin
- Your copay or cost share for an outpatient session
- Whether you have met any annual deductible or catastrophic cap
Please note: insurance benefit quotes are estimates from your insurance provider and are not a guarantee of coverage. Final responsibility for payment depends on how your insurance processes the actual claim for each date of service.
Not sure what your plan needs?
Send us your TRICARE details and we will check your benefits and any referral requirement, then tell you in plain language what to expect.

TRICARE West, answered plainly
Is Ala Therapy Collective in-network with TRICARE?
Kenzie Langford is in-network with TRICARE in the West Region, which TriWest administers for Texas. We verify your specific plan and any referral requirement before your first session rather than asking you to take our word for it.
What is the difference between TRICARE, TRICARE West, and TriWest?
TRICARE is the Department of Defense health program for service members, retirees, and their families. TRICARE West is the region Texas belongs to. TriWest Healthcare Alliance is the contractor that administers the West Region, a role it took over on January 1, 2025. One program, one region, one administrator, three names.
Do I need a referral to start therapy?
For most beneficiaries, no. Outpatient therapy with a TRICARE-authorized network provider does not require a referral under TRICARE Prime or Select. The exception is active duty service members, who need a referral and pre-authorization from their primary care manager for civilian care. If you are active duty, we will walk you through that step before we begin.
What will it cost?
It depends on your plan and your status. TRICARE Prime and TRICARE Select set cost shares differently, and active duty members often pay little to nothing for covered care. We read your benefits and tell you what to expect before you start.
Can I be seen in person?
Care in Texas is online only. Kenzie sees Texas clients by video, anywhere in the state, which is often the easier option around duty schedules, moves, and deployments.
What if I do not have TRICARE, or my plan is not covered?
You still have options. We offer private pay, and we are glad to talk it through. Start at our insurance page or send a message.
