If you have been on this plan a while, you have probably seen all of these names. The underlying network and coverage carried through every rebrand. We verify the card you have, not the card you used to have.
Neighborhood Health Plan
The original name, founded primarily as a Medicaid plan. Rebranded after Partners HealthCare acquired it in 2012.
AllWays Health Partners
The post-acquisition name from 2018 to 2022. Still appears on older paperwork and some legacy cards.
Mass General Brigham Health Plan
The current name as of January 1, 2023. Reflects the integration with the Mass General Brigham healthcare system.

Behavioral health flows through Optum.
Mass General Brigham Health Plan contracts with Optum Behavioral Health to administer mental health benefits. Your medical side stays with MGB Health Plan. Your therapy side flows through Optum. So when Optum shows up on your authorization or your provider portal, you are not in the wrong place. We are in-network with Optum, which means we are in-network for your therapy.

My card still says AllWays Health Partners. Is that the same?
Yes. AllWays Health Partners became Mass General Brigham Health Plan effective January 1, 2023. If your card still shows the old AllWays name, your coverage flows through the same network. We verify it the same way.
Why is Optum involved if my card says Mass General Brigham?
MGB Health Plan contracts with Optum Behavioral Health to administer mental health benefits. Your medical side stays with MGB Health Plan, your therapy side flows through Optum. We're in-network for the therapy side.
Does MGB Health Plan cover online therapy and EMDR?
Yes to both. Telehealth is covered at the same rate as in-person under nearly every MGB plan in Massachusetts. EMDR sessions are billed under standard outpatient psychotherapy codes.
Do you take MassHealth or My Care Family?
No. We don't accept MassHealth or any state Medicaid product, including My Care Family, which is MGB's Medicaid ACO.
